Right before the highway to Sierra City I met a lady and she asked if I knew her husband. I did not recall his name or face. She was pretty sure he met me in the early days of the PCT. Unfortunately he had to stop due to heart issues. He had no idea. He is now recovering from triple bypass heart surgery.
Made it into Sierra City in time to get breakfast. Hiker special is three eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes with some hash browns. Very hot in town at the bottom of the valley and 4k in elevation.
The store did not have my package. Fortunately the Post Office is next door. It was on top of the pile of packages. Lots of new food makes for a heavy pack.
One of the hikers in town I saw a few weeks ago heard the story of my self arrest. I confirmed it for him and hope there not much snow left on the trail.

My former physical therapist, Heather Corbin, started PCT April 22 and vowed to pass you. I just learned that she reached 700 miles. She hikes in a group. Tell her I’m no longer in PT.
Thanks, Love, Papa.

She better get moving I am at mile 1265, nearing the half way point. I hope she finishes before the snow comes.

Brother Paul, I’m still in disbelief we crossed paths on the bridge at Loves Fall on this day. I was with my Aunt (the one who approached you on the bridge), my two children and nephew. The chances that you met my Uncle a few months prior on PCT and then to pass us 600+ miles away is something I cannot explain. To make the story even more incredible is about 5 minutes before you appeared, we had just found my niece’s name that she had carved into the bridge a few years back. That is the daughter of my Uncle that you met. I live in San Diego now, but have spent my entire 44 years of life visiting Sierra City. I have never taken the path to Loves Falls until that day. The chances of meeting you at that moment in time is simply indescribable. Thank you for the bracelet and safe travels. Ed Gradek
