April 25th – Hikertown

Church came to me this morning. I learned early in the morning there was to be a service at 11:00am. Pastor Glen works at Hikertown and was cooking up multiple entries for lunch. It is a Filipino community that meets once a month here. I told him about coffee hour and he says they do a full on potluck feast.

The older generation was brought up Catholic but the service is very Evangelical. They did start with the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance. It was followed by a worship song with numerous verse. It lasted over fifteen minutes and I was the only one to not know the words. Pastor Glen gave a fifteen minute sermon which ended with a call.

I was the only hiker to accept the offer to join worship. All the hikers accepted the offer to join in for lunch.

I also joined my 7:00am meditation group. A good reminder that communities of others really assist me with my practices. They vary greatly left to my own time while on the trail.
