Today was a thirteen mile road walk around a fire closure. Fortunately there were very few cars. Two drivers stopped to ask if I needed a ride or any other assistance. I thanked them for the opportunity and continued my walk. I was in camp by 1pm.
Seems there three ways to deal with a closed trail. Walk the closure, walk the detour, get a ride around the closure.
Four other hikes walked by the campsites. I setup for the night. They walked the closed trail.
